MUMBAI: Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Sunday slammed Home Minister Amit Shah’s Mumbai visit to Lalbaugcha Raja Ganpati. Raut said he was afraid that, like many industries and institutions that have been moved from Mumbai to Gujarat, the BJP might also take Lalbaugcha Raja to Gujarat. He also criticized Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, saying that even if Fadnavis lived 100 lives, he would not be able to understand what goes on in the mind of NCP (SP) supremo Sharad Pawar. This response came after Fadnavis claimed that Pawar had shortlisted three to four names for the chief minister’s post ahead of state assembly elections, excluding Uddhav Thackeray. “They (BJP) can do anything. The Raja of Lalbagh has a big name; people come from all over the country. They may say let’s take it to Gujarat; it can happen. They may place a proposal to take away Lalbaugcha Raja to Gujarat. There are business people. I’m telling you. I am speaking very thoughtfully. These people are considering Maharashtra as an enemy. Many BJP people want to loot Mumbai,” Raut said. Shah is visiting Mumbai for two days beginning Sunday. “Our opposition to Amit Shah is because he tried to weaken Maharashtra by playing dirty politics. The way in which trade, industry, employment, and many important financial centres were taken from Mumbai and Maharashtra to Gujarat. Therefore, the feelings of Maharashtra are strong in the case of Amit Shah. Even if Amit Shah is the home minister, he is a weak home minister,” Raut said. “The law and order of this Maharashtra has completely collapsed. The home minister of this country is not paying attention to Jammu Kashmir, Manipur. Politics, party splitting, supporting looters, looting Mumbai… these things are being done. He did the work of breaking the self-respecting parties like Shiv Sena and NCP and further breaking Maharashtra. His dream is to make Maharashtra disabled. That is why he comes to Maharashtra. Hence, the people of Maharashtra consider him as an enemy,” Raut said. “In 2019, did Fadnavis know what Sharad Pawar was thinking and planning? Even if he is born 100 times, Fadnavis will fail to fathom what goes on in Sharad Pawar’s head. If there is any courage left with the ruling dispensation in the state, they should give a call for the election,” Raut said.
