Dr. Shivanand Hulyalkar serves on the Advisory Board of the International Wheelchair Cricket Council for the Asia Region.
Wheelchair cricket is played to the same laws as the standing game, with adaptations for the chair. What the sport lacks is not talent but infrastructure: accessible grounds, funded travel, a competition calendar, and selectors who know the players exist.
The Advisory Board’s work for the Asia Region is exactly that — building the structure around the players, so that a competitive career is a realistic thing to want.
